A Vision Realized for Young Filipino Artists
Bataan High School for the Arts (BHSA) began as the dream of a visionary leader, the Honorable Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, congressman of the 2nd District of Bataan. Bent on realizing that dream, Congressman Garcia filed House Bill No. 7784 (An Act Creating a High School for the Arts in the Province of Bataan to be known as the Bataan High School for the Arts, and Appropriating Funds Thereto) in May 2018.
Today, BHSA stands as a dedicated sanctuary for creative talent, providing a balanced environment where artistic discipline flourishes alongside academic excellence under the Department of Education.
The Six Arts Disciplines
Rigorous conservatory training and academic instruction preparing students for higher artistic studies and creative careers.
Media Arts
Scholars develop end-to-end production skills across digital filmmaking, animation, digital photography, graphic communication, and interactive new media.
Dance
Rigorous studio training in classical ballet technique, fluid contemporary choreography, and authentic Philippine folk and traditional dances.
Music (Voice & Instrument)
Young musicians cultivate their technical fluency, ear training, and stage presence through dedicated solo instruction and collaborative ensemble performance
Theater Arts
Performers and technicians explore acting methodology, dramatic literature, stage directing, vocal projection, and full-scale technical theater production.
Visual Arts
Students master observational drawing, color and painting systems, three-dimensional sculpting, and traditional wood carving while engaging with regional materials and art history.
Creative Writing
Students develop a distinct literary voice by exploring formal poetic structures, free verse, ethical news reporting, and investigative feature journalism.
